How to Set Up a Newsletter

You can mass-communicate with and engage your Affiliates by sending a Newsletter. We generally recommend sending a Newsletter at least once a month to let your Affiliates know what’s going on with your store, your program, seasonal product changes/highlights, program bonuses, recently uploaded Creatives, etc.

When you’re composing a Newsletter you can either click New Blank Text Newsletter or New Blank HTML Newsletter. The Text Newsletter allows for plain text, and the HTML Newsletter allows for HTML code so you can customize the formatting of your Newsletter and add images, if necessary. Please note that if you'd like to utilize HTML formatting within your Newsletter this will require that you or someone on your end has experience with HTML code.

Once you've chosen either the New Blank Text Newsletter or New Blank HTML Newsletter option, the first tab will be the ‘Recipients’ section. This is where you'll specify the recipients of your Newsletter. By default, your recipient list will be set to send your Newsletter to all approved Affiliates in your program. You can, of course, adjust your recipient list to only send your Newsletter to an individual Affiliate, a specific Affiliate Group, Affiliates with a specific tag, Affiliates based in a specific country, Affiliates that have hit specific performance metrics for your program, and more.

When you’re composing your Newsletter you’ll find macros on the left-hand side of the page which will populate the data for each individual Affiliate receiving your Newsletter. You will also find Creative Information where you can add various Banners you've uploaded in your account directly to your Newsletter. If you decide to include any Banners in your Newsletter, there are also several macros you can add, such as: a link to where your Affiliates can access the Banner within your Creative Inventory, HTML code that an Affiliate can copy and paste to their site to implement the Banner, and more. Please note that Banner images will only work in an HTML-based newsletter. When you’re previewing your Newsletter you can click the 'Send Yourself A Test' button to send a test of the Newsletter to the email address you have on file with your account. However, please note that any macro/affiliate link that's populating with Affiliate-specific information will not populate in your test email/preview since you’re not an Affiliate, but it will populate when the live Newsletter is sent.

Newsletters can be sent as either Public (viewable to Affiliates not currently in your program) or Private (only viewable to Affiliates in your program). You can also schedule the delivery of your Newsletter to be sent out at a certain date/time, and flag it as a template so you can easily reload and reuse it at a later date.
